Probably already mentioned by someone but what about arrowroot or slippery elm powder? I have used both when I worked as a Nutritionist (human) for binding and soothing inflamed bowels. Not certain how it would work on an alpaca. Easy to use, make into a paste and taste okay too. I suggest it for 2 reasons.. it has mollasses in so good for skinnies and when we gave it to our old girl to get her weight up, it seemed to dry out her beans a bit, although she didn't have diarrhoea, maybe worth a try?
