Shearing?

Short blog.

34 alpacas here now ready for shearing tomorrow. All soaking wet.

The shearer arrives at 0800hrs.

It's lashing down as I write.

We have one field shelter which is 10' x 12'.

I am grumpy. Proper grumpy.

Ask the shearer if he is coming up our way - if you remember!!! Hope the day goes well.

Good luck for tomorrow - fingers crossed it dries up a bit for you. We had wet fleeces at Tims as well and even worse last year. I am sure it will all work out OK.

Sounds bad.

We always bring them indoors the night prior to shearing. alpacaNordica, who handles the shearing for us with expert help from NZ this year, strongly suggests this to everyone.

Hubby & I just survived our first shearing - 34 here too.- and rain. We did it in the barn. Two long 12 hour days. I called it me baptism of fiber.

I still feel shell shocked!

I hope all goes well with your shearing day!
