Just a quick one today as I am flat out all morning with chores, halter training and wood chopping etc and then off to work for ten hours.
Tsar update:
Squit consistency - still thin gravy (better than the coca cola that it was!)
Weight - up another 170 grams.
Demeanour - Lively and alert.
Location - in the shed, soon to be out in the sun.
Mood in the house - positive but would like to see the end of this diarrhoea!

Just an idea...have you tried giving him some lucerne, as in Alpha A or the like? I suggest it for 2 reasons.. it has mollasses in so good for skinnies and when we gave it to our old girl to get her weight up, it seemed to dry out her beans a bit, although she didn't have diarrhoea, maybe worth a try? They alpacas love it and it's high in protein too so a great winter extra! Great news so far...keep it up little Tsar!
Excellent news ...onwards and upwards ... little Tsar has lots of people willing him better .. Jayne
I am addicted to your posts now, still keeping everything crossed your little guy! Probably already mentioned by someone but what about arrowroot or slippery elm powder? I have used both when I worked as a Nutritionist (human) for binding and soothing inflamed bowels. Not certain how it would work on an alpaca. Easy to use, make into a paste and taste okay too.
